Keel wiggle

I just bought a 1980 RK20 Hess design. It has a fixed cast iron keel that weighs 820#. The boat has been in a slip for two years without a haul out. The inside bottom was bone dry. There were no blisters on the hull. The keel is bolted inside the cabin into a sort of centerboard trunk.<br />When they were carrying it on the lift to put it on the trailer I noticed some side to side sway of the keel. I pulled the floor and found no cracks. There are no wood members around the keel to rot. Should I be concerned about the bottom flexing? Thanks, Doug

Re: Keel wiggle

no, unless the bolts are loose (YOU HAVE TO A MARINA THAT CAN DO THIS) good luck.

Thanks, This is my first sailboat. I just want to narrow my problems when I take her out. Doug
