keel repair what to do???

hello everyone just recently purchase a skiff fiberglass hull. the keel that rides up the roller mostly towards the bow of the boat is damage crAcks and some scratches. what is the best way for me to fix it. do i use marine tex or something else. please help... thank you!

grind out affected area, clean with acetone, fill with marine tex or gell coat if repainting...for get matching it unless its white......

for deeper goughes where the glass has been exposed....repain in the same fashion, just add a small layer of glass to the area, then fill
