I'm considering a keel guard for my PWC and boat. I moor both on a lake and constantly beach the craft on a sandy beach, but it's taking its toll on the hulls. Can anyone advise ease of application and usefulness given the $100 to $140 price tag. How aboiut alternatives??

I have heard that they perform great under all but the most extraordinay of circumstances. I am considering on for my boat also.

Do a search at the top of the page. Also try Keel Shield in the search.

I am considering one, too.

I have heard that the installation procedure must be done perfectly or they peel.

I did mine last year. I had some beaching scars that I put some marintex over and then applied the Keelshield.

Installation really was quite easy.. The only hard part was ensuring the initial placement of the guard along the keel line was straight. This was hard because I was working underneath the trailer and the trailer was getting in the way.

Also, I had a little trouble with the sealant they provided. It was kinda runny. It was a real hot day so that may have been the problem..

Overall, it went on easy and is staying on nicely. It also looks nice too.

I found the best prices for these at sailnet.com. I got mine for about $105 with free shipping..
