I have a 1955 34' Richardson with twin Chrysler flathead 6's. They are hooked up to keel coolers. The system has overflow tanks in the head. When the engines get warm some of the antifreeze likes to come out onto the countrtop in the head. Makes a mess. If it gets too hot they shoot like geysers. There is a 1/2" feed line to the system from the bottom of the overflow tank...and a smaller relief line that connects to the top of the overflow tank in case of over heating.
I am wondering if I need the relief line going to the overflow tank at all? Can I just send it to another tank in the engine compartment or does there need to be some kind of air flow continuity?
Thanks.
