KC area lakes with swimming beaches

I normally boat on Clinton and Perry lakes, but the water is very high on them and the beaches are closed. My little kids just love playing in the sand, and I'd like to find a somewhat local lake to go to this weekend with a good beach on it. I'm on the west side of KC but willing to travel about two hours.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The corps lakes website seems to be down at the moment but you may want to check Pomona. The beach was closed earlier this spring but may be reopened.

Milford would be every bit of two hours from western KC but would have open beaches. There is a big beach where a lot of boaters beach their boats (nicknamed nudie beach). Several smaller beaches in the same area - near the town of milford.

I'll second Pomona, the beach is real nice. However, it is mostly flooded right now. I was there all of last weekend and every time I drove across the dam I noticed the sand volleyball court getting further and further away from shore. Longview has a nice beach too but I do not know the current status.
