I'm hoping someone can give me some first hand information on Kayot deck boats. I am presently looking at a S230 or a Legend to buy (I/O). I plan on spending most of my time in Parker and Lake Havasu in AZ. Havasu gets some pretty big wakes and chop so I'm curious if anyone has any experience with either of these hulls in rough water or chop? I'm also curious how the Legend (tunnel/cat) turns. I plan on test driving each of them but this time of year may be difficult t replicate busy, choppy conditions. Thanks

I have seen the Kayot down here on Lake Tawakoni in several instances. Length maybe 40', twin I/O's. You can do a google map and find the lake. It's East of Quinlan, TX. You can see from it's expanse and knowing that the wind blows more in N. TX., usually from the south or slight variances of that, than it does in Chicago believe it or not. They seem to be a reasonable hull for the usage. I'd consider one if in the market. Best I can do.

Edit. These were houseboats, not deck boats. If they can build a houseboat they surely ought to be able to build a deckboat.

I had a 24.5' Harris Kayot deck boat, with the cat hull and an I/o. It turned like you would expect, kind of slide through hard turns with that hull.
The hull was very good with large wake and waves on the lake. Part of it was the boat sits very high off the water too.
