I am a new boat owner. I bought my wife a 1990 Supra Conbrio ski boat for her birthday. So far we love it. However, when we first started looking, my wife really wanted something that would accomidate more passengers especially kids. When we look at our options, what seemed to be best for our family was a deck boat, but everything we found was out of our price range, so we settled on the open bow ski boat. Then we ran across an ad. for a mid 80's Kayot Deck Boat. At $5K it seemed like a steel, so we started doing a little research to compare and found about 5 more ranging in price from about $2500 to $6000. I don't know anything about these boats, so I hope you guys can help me. Is this brand a good brand? What years were good? and any potential problems or info. Thanks in advance.

as with buying any used boat condition is a must. most boats are good boats, they just had bad owners. i have a 1999 Chris Craft 230 deck boat and love it. seats 13. but was not in that price range.
