Kayak trolling Motor steering issue

The other day I made a motor mount on my kayak for my electric trolling motor. I've got the throttle control mounted in the kayak but I have no way to steer It normally. On an outboard I would attach a tiller extension but I can't put one on cause of it being 5 feet behind me I couldn't turn that far.
Any ideas?
My kayak is a sit in kayak that 12ft long. The trolling motor is a 1991 Minn Kota 27lbs thrust transom mount.

There are MANY ways to steer one.... You can use ropes n pulleys.... Cables... A tiller at 90* with a swivel and a push/pull pole at your side

you can even lock it straight ahead and steer with your paddle

if you google kayak trolling motor you can read for days on the subject.

is your kayak set up to take a pedal controlled rudder? that would be the easiest method. a simple pulley system controlled by pressing left/right with your feet.

Will post pic later.
Can't steer with my feet don't want to drill below the water line. I like the Push rod idea.
Just a temporary thing till I get my boat in the water this weekend
