KAWI 750 fouling plugs like crazy?

I have a 98 750 sts and it is running super rich. it's fine if i ride it at WOT, but as soon as i get in an idle speed zone it loads up fast and starts smoking bad. When i take the plugs out they are visibly wet with oil, and if i look into to cylinders i can see oil on the pistons. It's not a puddle or anything, but there is definately a glaze. Can you tell me what to adjust and where it's at? I recently rebuilt the carbs, and i don't know which adjustments are which.

it is probably fuel leaking in the carbs, pull them off and get someone to do them that is familiar with the carbs

it's probably just a small adjustment, the carbs are not leaking, i have rebuilt four wheeler and dirtbike carbs that are very very similar. If i would have told you guys i've been working on skis for years and couldn't find the problem you would have given me another solution other than "take it to a professional" It's acting like it's getting to much oil. Is there a way to adjust it other than going to premix?

Are they the right number plugs for the ski? sometimes if you go one heat range hotter, it will help to burn off the excess oil, & fuel, and an older engine will run better. NGK's numbers get lower as you go hotter (unlike other brands)

I may have the wrong plugs in it, i got the plugs from autozone, they said they were comperable to the ones that were in it. I don't remmember what they were, but the ones i have now are autolite cheapos. Does anyone know which plugs are reccomended for it? Gap?

I do believe that's the same number plug my 96' Waveventure 1100 calls for, but on a tip, I put in the next hotter heat range BR7ES NGK plugs last year, and haven't had a misfire yet, and lord knows, with this old oil injection system this thing pumps in plenty of unmetered oil, loading up at idle it looks like a fog machine,,,lol

Thanks! Yea, a couple days ago i went to the stealer and bought some 7's. the 8's are stock, but i wanted to go hotter. I put them in and started it for about 15-20 seconds. turned it off took the plugs out and they already had oil on them. I don't know if they will still fould though. If i take it out and they still foul i'm going to get rid of the pump and go to pre-mix. That whould help, but i don't mind the extra oil as long as it runs ok. The more oil the better for the motor.

It's always gonna show oil on the plugs, they should work better for you regardless, spray the old plugs off with carb cleaner, or starting fluid then read their porcelin color, I think brown is what you're looking for. Gray, or white is not good! The new ones won't look much different once they're run in awhile, and this will give you an idea of how they're firing.

The old ones were brown after cleaning, it is firing pretty good. it's just all that damn oil everywhere. They get pretty caked after a while of idling.

I think the oil is made by shell, it's called "sea and snow" or something. it's for jet skis and snow mobiles. it's supposed to be low smoke. Actually i'm not running anything now because i took it out this weekend and lost the rear cylinder. It has very low compression now. i'm suspecting the rings are shot. Time for a rebuild. could this be from using the hotter plugs? Could maybe my reeds just be bad?
