i have 2 650 sx machines. they bolth have the same problem. when you would start the ski it would take about 5 minoutes to warm up. then after you ride for about 1 hour or so, nad you stop for a hour. the ski will take awile to start back up and run(none of my other skis do this). i dont know what it is, but i was told that it was the blow off valve or pop off valve. but the problem is i dont know what that it is. i was told it was on the carb? does anyone know what it is? if so please let me know. and i want to learn how to fix it my self.

thanks ..

Carbs are very important and must be done correctly or you just wasted your time and money, go to www.sbtontheweb.com and look in the carb section. good luck.

Re: kawasaki 650 sx

it sounds like it is running lean that could be caused by dirty carb weak fuel pump bad diaphraghm clogged fuel lined or fuel switch fuel filter air being pulled in the fuel lines , etc the service manual will tell you all you need for a carb but you have to track down the reason sometimes it is easy some times it is difficult, I have a fuel problem myself on an engine that the cause is totally eluding me, so I feel your pain and if you have some weak gas that can do it as well or the plug wires are breaking down and it isn't fuel at all it's a matter of detective work eliminating the suspects one by one

Re: kawasaki 650 sx

i appriciate your time thank you but i just have one question do you know what the blow off valve or pop off valve is? i really dont think it is a cloged fuel line becouse it happens offten and then after it warms up for like 5 min iit will run perfect. i dont think it is a bad pump or diaphraghm becouse it could still start and run. you would be able to go wide open no problem after the 5 min of warming up. i think that it is just a screw on the carb that adjusts the amount of fuel. like top and bottom end screws on the carb. am i making sense or do i not know what i am talking about?
thanks again
