Just purchased an '02 1100 ZXi. Started it to winterize, and it blew out a glob of oily sludge out of the exhaust port. Any idea's what this is, is it normal?

Re: Kawasaki 1100 ZXi

it's oil residue from burning 2 stroke oil,, it's normal but if you want to clear out the water box where the oil builds up, take a bottle of dish soap, squirt some in the flush hose before you start the engine, then hook up the hose, start the engine and turn on the water, let the engine run a few minutes and see if the crap gets cleaned out, then repeat the process a few times, the dish soap will loosen up the sludge and clear most of it out. don't do it on a driveway because it makes a mess when all that black goo comes out the exhaust .

if this is your first jet ski you may want to read the post I did on www.pwcweekly.com help for novice jet ski owners, it may save you a lot of problems and avoid some costly mistakes .
