i forgot one other thing. does any one have an idea why my forward/reverse "shifter" won't budge? if i squeeze the handle it will move a fraction of an inch either way.i can move the plate by hand ok, but the cables mabey binding up? or one cable is binding?

it is usually the cable, take the end off at the back by the hood, unscrew the cable end from the cable get a piece of fuel line hose and 2 clamps, remove the little wiper from the cable if it's even stii on it, looks like a little rubber boot.slide the fuel type hose over the cable and clamp it on the outer cable housing, then get a grease gun and clamp the hose on the end of the grease gun, now carefully apply some preasure to the gun and force grease in the cable, put a few pumps on the gun and then go work the handle for the reverse lever, do this and it may loosen up and start working keep pumping grease till it comes out the other end by the handle then re attach the wiper and cable end etc, oh remember when you are moving the cable it will hit the end of the grease gun so don't force it just move it till you feel it stop it all depends on how long the piece of hose is that you are using as to how far you can move the handle while you do this I usually use thick wall clear tubing because you can heat the end and get it to slip over the grease gun easier, plus you can see the grease moving inside it while you pump on the grease gun.

Kawasaki sells a tool for this but Jeffs way works just as well & is much cheaper & is just as effective.<br /><br />Jet Set
