kaw 1990 is it overheating???

hi i have a 90 kaw 650ts runs great i just put it in yesterday..the telltale hole is pissing water great but the engine looks hot for somereason i you threw a few droplets of water on it, it would steam up??? and the plugs discolored for some reason??? any ideas???

also i'm missing a bolt to the exhaust manifold would that make it overheat???

water comes from the pump,, remove the hose and back flush it to clean it out,, if it isn't clogged then you either have sand in the water jackets or the exhaust water box is full of sand,, once you get a kaw hot you need to pull the head and replace the head gasket surface the head and re torque the head,, with the head removed you can see if sand has built up in the water jackets, usually it is the hose next to the pump that gets clogged .

okay could it still be overheating if the telltale is still pissing water??? i ran it yesterday but something still doesnt' seem right?? how hot is too hot when i run it i can't touch the head its too hot is that normal???

if it's that hot you may have sand in the cooling system or the water box
