have a 1998 kaw 1100.. it is a three cyl and when running the front cyl over heats and creates steam presure inough to blow off the flushing conector. even running out of water on a hose you can fell the cyl and the front one will run hotter than the back ones. all cooling hoses have been chacked and no obstructions. can this ba a bad head gasket??

Yes It Can, Try Taking a compression test on all the cylinders .Do you ride in salt water or fresh water? The front cylinder water jacketts may be clogged and not allowing enogh water through to properly cool that cylinder.

if you ran it that hot you need to remove the head and inspect the water jackets for sand etc replace the head gasket with a new one and torque it to specks, it is now most likely leaking water in to the cylinder and ruining that part of the engine.catch it before it gets expensive.

that is strange, did you remove the hose at the pump to see if the hose is clogged and the water holes in the pump are clear also look at the impeller and see what clearance you have it could be worn out , there must be a cause for this to be overheating, how does the water box look is it clogged up with sand etc, and check the passages in the head for obstructions
