I think its lookin a lot better. I mainly have just worked on the trailer. Sanded it, primed and painted it. New bearings, races, seals, grease, etc. New light kit, I'm also going to put some black split tubing to protect and hide the wires running down the trailer, and add a winch. I also painted the steering wheel.
I found that 1997 Motorguide Brute 12/24 foot controlled trolling motor for $60! It works great.

Just thought I would post some before and after pics. Take care everyone.

Re: Just Thought I Would Share Some Before & After Pics

Thanks for the kind replies guys. Yeah I had more problems with my former rig, a 1995 18 ft. Procraft w/Merc 150. I bought it used from a dealer and after 5 runs a cylinder went dead. Went through a nightmare with them having it rebuilt, then sold it.

Anyways I bought this rig for $100 w/papers. The motor runs great, has great compression, boat has new decking, carpet, livewell, etc. Trailer has a new bulldog hitch. All this for $100. Not a bad "fixer upper" at all.

Besides, the fish don't care what your boat looks like :p

RB,

Not yet. It didn't have a prop, and the tilt motor was dead. I bought these two parts real cheap on ebay (used) and am still having problems with the tilt. I also just changed the water pump to make sure all is well.
I have to re-do all the wiring because one of the guys who had it before sure did a bash up job of wiring, endless splices, etc.

William

72, your trailer looks great. May I ask what you went through to get it back in shape. What did you spray it with?....Great Job.... Warren

Warren,

All I did was sand the trailer, then sprayed it with black primer, 2 full coats. Then 1 coat of flat black paint. Then I wanted a little shine so I sprayed a coat of semi-gloss black on it. Just regular spray cans is all.

William
