zi've a 89 evinrude xp150. I just had it completely redone new everything pistons .040 over everything remachined & New. all electronics replaced with mallory parts stator pick up , timer base starter everything new fuel pump non VRO. Redid lower unit also so I have an 89 xp150 crossflow that with routine maintenence should last me the rest of my live good fuel oil new filter & water pump yearly my use is cruising from spot to spot I use a 6hp johnson 4 stroke for a kicker. Other than having a 89 engine that will never be worth what I have in it, as long as it runs for 30 years I'm happy I'm using a 10 hour break inperiod with a little richer oil mixture before I go WOT to set up the correct prop I put it on a 2001 hull in perfect condition still have less than 13k in the whole rig. Are my expectations real of this lasting a longggggggggg time same boat new is now 30k. I just wanted something to use & last forever Just want a lil reassurance I did the right thing again this is too use not invest I figure in 29 years it'll be worth what a new one is so far it runs great thanks for your input
