Just replaced my vro pump...but found other issues.

Just replaced my vro pump on my 2001 90 v4. I removed all the fairing to get better access....so far the motor runs great...I did put oil in the fuel tank also for insurance. Anyhow...I found some major corrosion on on part....can anyone tell me what this is and what I should do?

Looks to be the upper motor mount. How about wirebrush, and spray it with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer. That is very good at stopping further rusting. Then use black topcoat.

Check it real good as that is a critical part of the mtr.

Well basically I got off all the loose rust...there must have been some kind of vinyl coating on it which has failed...I peel it

back as far as I could an treated the area with rustolean primer.
