Just Please Start

1955 5.5 hp Johnson wont start.I pull and pull on the cord but it just wont start. i had it running for about 10 seconds just barely and it pumped water and maid bubbles . am doing something wrong please please help

It's one of two things:

1) Spark
2) Fuel

Take the plugs out and see if they're wet. If they are you've got some kind of fuel thing happening.

Now, dry them, attach the wires and set 'em on a good ground like the engine case. You should see sparks when you pull the cord.
