Hello everyone, I have just had one of the best days on the water I have ever had and thought I would like to share it with you all. I am from a little island south of Australia called TASMANIA.

I bought my boat outfit s/hand about eight months ago and have had nothing but problems, one after the other. Bad 30 year old CHRYSLER. Crack in the hull. Trailer needed work and so on........but, finally, everything is done and I have replaced the CHRYSLER with a '77 115hp Merc. What a lovely motor this is!! :D

Headout out this morning with 3 friends. Blus skies. Calm water. 18 degress celcius. Gentle wind. JUST PERFECT. We headed about 3 miles down the estuary and started fishing of sandy bay. Then headed to South Arm and caught some flathed. After this, head further south to a friends shack and beached the boat (my first time!!) and laid back on the verandah with a cold beer (just one!!) Headed back across the river to the cliffs near Taroona and saw a sea lion basking in the sun. Caught a small shark and two octopus. Hobart, the city where I live is a has a marina/wharf right in the city. We headed there, tied up to the dock and headed off for an ice cream. After this, we went back up past the Bowen Bridge for a spin and then headed home. All in all, we were on the water for 6 hours and used 50 litres of fuel. WHAT A FANTASTIC day it has been. This is what it is all about :D :D :D

Headcopter, those are the kind of days that get you hooked on boating forever. I think everyone that keeps a boat can testify to one or two really great days that are a constant reminder why they put up with all the bills, time, and headaches that can also come with boating. Really is great feeling when you take and old rig and bring life back to her. Sounds like she was rewarding you for fixing her up! Good luck buddy! ;)

By the way...I had a 1977 115 Merc and it was a very good motor for me. Never let me sit and I never had a major repair to it. Hope yours does as well.
