Ok, first things first: there will be no pictures until 14 months of crud is removed from her, so quit asking...:p

Just finalized my deal on a new-to-me Newport 27-S weekender and I though I'd share. Got a great deal from a super sweet older gentleman who's health isn't allowing him to even pay attention to her, let alone sail her. She's been bound and gagged inside a marina for the past 14months, so there's lots of dirt to be removed, brightwork to be "re-brightened", chrome to be polished, etc. etc. etc. However, she's a solid older lady. PO removed the Atomic 4 and put a 20hp Universal diesel in her 2 years ago, which has me excited. And finally, I have a sailboat that I can stand up in....at least in the center of the cabin. I'm 6'2" so the little 22 footer I started with didn't cut the mustard, so-to-speak. She's sleeps 5 comfortably, has a head w/holding tank, fresh water galley and a built in ice-box. Once I add a two burner LP stove top, she's gonna be great for weekending. I even got an older auto-pilot thrown in the deal, even though neither of us has seen it work (wish me luck).

I'll try and get some "before" and "after" shots up in the next week, but I'm jacked so I needed to share where I know folks appreciate another boat purchase!!!!! Oh, she's not named, at least on the back, so we've (meaning the Admiral did) decided on.....
Nomoorkidz.........get it? The last one finally left the nest 2 months ago so now we can AFFORD to go sailing:D

Good on you, sounds like a great boat. Looking forward to seeing the "clean up" pics, but remember, "clean ups" can quickly turn into "full restos"! :)

Ok, here's a 'before' shot. She's so dirty, I didn't want to get up too close. At least I got her home this morning. This was taken at the PO's slip at a local Marina.

Wow, she sure is a looker! Once you've cleaned her up we'd love to see the before and after shots! :)

Re: Just closed the deal! Hooray for me!

I just replaced the running rigging; gotten her washed and started cleaning out all the junk, and inventory-ing anything that is going to stay. Man, PO left a lot of little "what-nots" all over the place. There didn't seem to be any method to his madness either, lol. Once that's done, this weekend, I'll try to get some more "before" pics up, because I'm planning to redo the interior cushions, freshen up all the brightwork and repaint the deck and no-slip. Then we'll have some "after" shots to go along with it. If only the temp would get down a few degrees to make this work a little less miserable....phew.
