i just went out and bought a new trailer, $1,424.00 for a magic tilt for my 17 foot cobia, i struggled almost weekly with my old one and just could not take it anymore, so with my wifes blessing i went to pick it up, they lifted my boat and centered everything, it pulls so smooth its scary LOL. anyways i thought id share my new toy with my friends here at iboats.

I do, Braxton :) ;) :)

I just recarpeted my bunks (replacing one of the boards on account of rot.) I also put new lights on it, so it feels new to me. Doubt if mine will pull any different though.
Congrats, and Happy Boating!

Re: just bought a new trailer

Braxton,
Glad to hear your experience went well. My new trailer experience was bone chilling and resulted in my distrust of anyone selling me anything.... new or used.
We purchased a new Shoreland'r 9500lb capacity trailer from a reputable Grady White boat dealer and they agreed to set it up for the boat. The 1st problem was they never put brake fluid in and didn't realize that until I was heading out of the dealer. Since this delayed things, we left the dealer after closing hours and quickly discovered that the tounge wt was set up WAY too light for the load (under 100lbs). Our trip home was at 40-45 mph and white knuckled. Once home. while adjusting the axles to increase the tounge wt, I noticed the brake lines were incorrectly installed on the trailer. The rubber flex lines were installed where the fixed metal lines should have been and the metal lines were installed where they flexed as the suspension went up and down. All this and supposedly the trailer had passed the required New York safety inspection!

Glad to hear yours went well ---- I wish ours had! Once all the fixes were performed and the trailer was set up properly, it was a joy to trailer and launch.
