Just bought a new Nissan 6 hp / 4-cycle motor

I was wondering.. if I were to let the motor run out of gas after every day of boating, would it hurt the motor? <br /><br />I want to do as much preventative maintenance as possible.. trying to keep the carb as dry as possible when the motor is just sitting around.

Always run the gas out of the engine when you are done using it. It will not hurt the engine in any way.
