But it's not a Starcraft In shopping for an aluminum boat, preferably Starcraft I ran across a "deal" on a Crestliner Sportfish 1750. I say "deal" because it will prove out to be a great deal (imo) or prove me an idiot. Only time will tell.
To summarize, it has been sitting (under a full snap on cover) for four years with a seized engine ('97 Johnson 115). I have an older 120 Merc I can mount up courtesy of my brother in-laws glass boat fiasco (rotting floor/transom, etc.) Before going that route I will look into rebuilding the Johnson as overall it's a nice set up with hydraulic steering, power tilt and all. First thing I will order up the shop manual for the Johnson.
If you read this far and are wondering why I posted in the Starcraft forum, well, like I said I anticipated buying a Starcraft for a few reasons. One primary reason is the activity and knowledge available on this forum. Two, I grew up with a Starcraft fishing boat that lives to this day. You guys have a good thing here. Lastly, I will post up picks when I get a chance to take some in some daylight as it just came home last night.
