When I try to raise and lower trim it clicks when pushing down and nothing when pushing up button. The drive raises and lowers perfectly when 12 volts is applied to directly. I have a feeling there is not enough voltage being applied from the switch. I was wondering if anyone had any advice, is this one of those things where I clean and sand the grounds or is the switch bad? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you you have a weak or bad solenoid, Also the wiring going to the solenoid may be too small or corroded, or the switch may be corroded/worn enough to cause a high resistance causing lower voltage than needed.

That doesn't tell us a whole heck of a lot. My guess maybe a Volvo?

Yea its volvo penta with engine aq131, im getting closer. Im gonna run a new wire from my up(blue) switch to solenoid to see what i get. I am not getting a constatnt voltage at either solenoid. When 12 volts is applied to solenoid the down works fine but up is not doing anything.
