OK, a little background-Last year I bought a very clean 1991 Bayliner 2050 with rough running 3.0 and new SEI outdrive. Rebuilt carb, tune up, etc. and boat ran great but was getting a little water in oil-( I have receipt from previous owner on winterization prior to me buying boat). Well long story short, cracked block. So I purchased a rotten 87 Sunbird with good running, non cracked 140. Over the last 2 weekends I have completed the swap.
Everything was an exact swap, even the newer style fuel pump worked in place of the older one. I had to swap to the 91 valve cover for the proper size studs for the shift cables. I used the rebuilt carb from the 91 engine, replaced plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor , points and condenser. Set dwell and timing and it is running perfect. I will be water testing this weekend. I had planned to take plenty of pics during the swap, but camera was stolen from office last week.
