I get my eyeglasses free from the V.A., but I've heard great things about Zenni-optical.com, both for service and pricing.

I would go to the VA, except where I live, the earliest appointment I can get is over 6 months away! Or I could travel ot of state which makes them puppies really expensive! So I figured I would check around to see whats available...

I just checked out zenni.com cool website, you can upload your picture and try on the different glasses. I think I am going to give them a try...they are dirt cheap and have good reviews.

How do you get your prescription updated online? Get yourself down from those hills to your nearest Wallmart. Cheap and agreeable, year after year.

YES. I have purchased a few pair online from http://www.zennioptical.com/ The glasses work fine but make sure you have ALL of your Rx such as the distance your eyes are apart.

I have purchased a pair for my car for driving with clip on (magnetic) sun glasses which work nice. My only comment is that the metal frames are really lightweight (big plus) and they seem cheap in feel. Zeeni was about the same speed as my VA delivery from ordering to delivery.

You get everything "ala carte" so be sure to get the extra coating.... etc.

Here is where I first read about them. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=341827&highlight=zenni

I purchase mine thru www.goggles4u.com. Pretty fast delivery, and I found their customer service easy to deal with the one time the did mess up an order. It amazes me that they can import them into the US, distribute them from their CA offices, and deliver them to me for such a ridiculously low price. That tells me the retail markup on eyeglasses must be astronomical. Just add your prescription information carefully, and do the best you can measuring the distance between your pupils.

I have ordered a couple times from Zenni. Great experience. I have a very strong prescription and was able to order 3 pairs of glasses for $90.

Best deal you can find. I got a pair for $25. I didn't get any extra coating. It's now been 1 1/2 years and they still look good. I also agree they are very light weight (plus) but the temple pieces are starting to flake a little. But, hell! $25 a year for glasses?!? I'll take it all day.
