just a heads up if your thinking of installing a 350 vortec engine.

Today i started installing a 1998 chevy 350 vortec engine into a 86 boat. Everything was going good till i went to install the water pump.Turns a water pump from an engine with a stamped steele timing cover will not fit a vortec engine with the composite timing cover. So it was another run my local marine store to get the correct water pump

just cut the head off the one bolt in the way, it has a built in washer that will hold it fine. if you have to pull your timing cover you have bigger problems than one tough to remove bolt.
