Jordan Lake, NC - What is biting?

Anyone here have comments on Jordan Lake in NC? I am new to fishing this lake and am looking for some general input.

What kind of live bait should i be using, where, when, etc.?

Also, I am wanting to reserve a campsite for July 4th that is on the water where I can tie my boat up or beach it next to my campsite, any suggestions as to how and where?

I used to fish it years ago.We did a lot of night time Crappie fishing.
Biggest slabs i have ever seen.Used live minnows and jigs.
I don't remember where exactly we use to put in at but it was off of Hwy 64.
It was my buddies boat and he always drove.
Nice lake though!
