Johnson won"t pull it's own weight??

I have 1986 johnson 60hp. ran out of gas on trailor after about 20secs. or so? i replaced VRO pump now runs fine on the trailor but when i try to tack off just boggs! barely keeps running??? think its carbs but would like confermation from the people in the know.THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!USMC..HOOOORA!!!!

Youve got it,probably dirty carbs.Give em a rebuild.While your at it go through it from tank to carbs check clean and repair as required.

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!! USMC!!! Listen up!!!<br /><br />Sorry dude...was a zoomie at one time. Love to dig other branches.<br /><br />Check the manual about sync and link. This is where the throttle picks up in relationship to the throttle plates. <br /><br />Just another question, is yer' manual OEM or generic?
