I posted here a couple of weeks ago about my '85 Johnson 115 with a rattle or clanking noise. I took in to a shop and advised me that there is no compression in one of the cylinders. He told me that the sound was likely one of the pistons, and that it was not worthwhile repairing (would cost as much as replacing).
Is there any reason to doubt his conclusion about the piston?
Is it true that it is not feasible to repair?
Thanks!
