Can anyone help? I have a 1989 Johnson VRO 40 with a broken swivel bracket. My dealer ( in England) says that if he can find one, a new part will cost the equivalent of 700 dollars with another 400 dollars for labour. The engine may not be worth much more than this .Does anyone know where I could find a new or reliable secondhand part mor cheaply?

best wishes
Julian Coles

Labor sounds resonable ,if not nice.Parts should include all bushings and seals I would imagine?Sorry .Don't know the mark up on parts in the U.K..

There are a number of used part distributers here. All have websites but I don't have them here .Try RANCHO MARINE RECYCLE or SHIPWRECK MARINE or STONE AND SONS MARINE.All sell used parts and can be quite helpfull but please shop carefully.
