Got the boat out last week from setting up for the winter. Noticed that sometimes when I go to start the motor it hesitates like the battery is weak. It turns over a couple times then stops and starts back turning again.
Put a brand new marine battery in it and it seemed to do the same thing. Any ideas?

THe V-4's are NOTORIOUS for the negative (ground) cable being corroded at the engine block.

TAKE THE CONNECTION APART, and thoroughly clean it.

Don't trust your eyes, the connection needs to come apart.

Look around for a can of liquid vinyl coating Stratguy. Give all your electrical connections a coat of this. Keeps them from corroding.
