Hi again all, took the boat out for a test run yesterday and on start up an alarmsounds just after a minute or so of run time at idle. One second alarm pulses, tell tale is strong, I can touch the heads and cyl walls. I thought oil starvation from VRO, sucking air may be so stopped motor opened up oil bottle lid. Started motor again, straight into gear off i go alarm never sounded again. It has done this once before during a tank test I performed, opened oil container lid, restarted increased throttle no alarm after idleing for 10-15 minutes with occassional rpm up to 2500rpm. Appears to be no restriction of oil flow to VRO, cleaned vent in oil cap. The motor does idle to low i think, about 5-600 rpm in gear, in water. To low rpm at idle could it be not enough vacum at idle to supply correct fuel and oil pressure at VRO pump.

Also just replaced the reg/rect it reads fine up to about 4500rpm with WOT it stops working like some one has switched it off with a kil switch. Any ideas. All connections are clean and secure

many people do not trust those VRO pumps and bypass them and premix...sounds like your oil alarm is glitchy. I would recommend updating to the newer style fuel pumps if you are going to continue to not premix. sounds like you may have a bad tach to me.
