I keep having a fuel delivery problem here is what i got goin on at the moment.


I made a new float from cork but i used epoxy to coat it. It is floating,but am not sure if its floating efficiently runs good at idle at times doesn't leak really unless tilted pretty far over which i feel is normal in these old motors?

i haven't takin the petcock off the fuel tank to check above in the little area with a screen in it

or the screw with a screen around it in the bottom of the carb. it wouldn't come out and i didn't want to mess it up but i'm thinking that may be the problem and the reason why it didn't come out lol.


my main question is will the epoxy due or did i mess this up?

i ran a compression test and im running between 75 and 80 psi cold i feel like have gotten me a real good motor if i can get this all figured out for any of you that helped me on previous threads

well stripped it down after work yesterday epoxy was starting to peel

what should i use to coat the cork i have read airplane dope but am unable to find any locally

some one even said pvc cement will give pretty good milage as well but im am a lil leary of that if the epoxy didnt hold up

what about shellac? does the fuel eat thru that as well or?

what should i coat this float with

The only good thing I have found is the model airplane dope. Better to use nothing at all than something that will clog the fuel system.

well i got it all together i started it yesterday after work but it was starting to get dark so today after work im gunna tinker with it and see whats goin on hopefully

hightrim i used super glue how do you think that will work im gunna look in to ordering some of that airplane dope if this super glue doesnt work

im thinking all my problems are to do with this float some how hopefully it just starts working after work i didnt get a chance to really run it yesterday i just started it up and ran it for like a minute ill keep ya posted
