OMC built their own 4 strokes in 8, 9.9 and 15HP in the late 90s. I think that was '95 through '97. They first bought Suzuki DF70 engines in '97 and badged them as Evinrudes at about the same time that they stopped building their own small 4 strokes.
I had a '97 Johnson 9.9 4 stroke. It was a nice li'l engine.
