I searched this subject first without an answer. I want to order an owners manual but realize without a model number I may not get what I need. What is the difference between the RDL-21 - The RDS -21 - and the RDSL-21 ? does one have the optional generator? mine is power start and power choke with no generator. Remote steer set up.

The RDL is a very different motor from the RDS (there never was an RDS-19). 1958 model year RD-19C and RDL-19C were the standard 35 Sea Horse (RDL) and the RDS-20 and RDSL-20 were the Super Seahorse (RDS). The Super Seahorse had the double-wall lower leg and bucket cowling, intended to make it run quieter. The L meant long shaft version (although in the subsequent almost 60 years, it could have been shortened). They did not come with generator installed, but it was an option available at the time. Generators weren't standard issue until the electric shift models came out in the 1960s.
