Johnson starting problem

I have a Johnson 112 spl and the motor cranks but won’t start , and sometimes the motor will start with no problems but other times it take awhile before I can get it started, and ik theirs a leak at the carburetor but I’m just not sure what going on this is my first boat

Get the battery load tested.----Inspect the starter motor-------Post results of a compression test.------No money spent to do that testing.

Hot start or cold start??? Do you know how to start it? Seriously, are you doing the correct procedure? Tell us what exactly you are doing.
