johnson starter?

Ok, I have a 1957 35hp evinrude non- electric start. I want to put a strter on it and found one with brackett from a 1976 johnson 25hp. I want to know if this would work?

starter yes, bracket no.

The only brackets that will work are the 1957 and "standard" 1958 models. Why? Because of the silencer.
