Quick question. I know the Johnson 9.9 / 15 model 2 strokes were basically identical. If I had two motors, one a 1992, the other a 1996, or a 2004 for that matter, could I interchange the long shaft extension parts between the two?
I.e. the longer drive shaft, shift linkage rod, water tube, and metal case extension? Could I swap the parts from a 1992 to a 1996 or 2004 to convert that motor to a long shaft. The parts look the same to me, but I wasn't sure how to tell (especially for the drive shaft).
Any thoughts or experience doing this?
