Johnson Seahorse Model # question

I have a 35 HP Johnson Seahorse. I've owned it for about a year and its due for some maintenance. I have been trying to find the appropriate impeller etc but have been having trouble determining which one I need. The model # of my outboard is 35852R. I have found a couple of websites that give year etc for different model numbers. I haven't been able to find this exact model #. I have found 35852 but it says its a 1978 evinrude. So is my Johnson Seahorse an Evinrude? Is the impeller specified for model# 35852 the one I need? I appreciate any advice.

Johnsons and Evinrudes are typically the same thing. Perhaps someone swapped out the cowling of your somewhere along the way with the equivalent Johnson. I'd imagine you'd be safe with the 35852 impeller.

Re: Johnson Seahorse Model # question

Thanks. I was pretty sure that was the case but wanted to be sure before I purchased any parts or starting taking things apart.

Cheers,
Pat.
