Johnson outboard motor

I am trying to buy a pre-owned 1979 70hp Johnson outboard and the lower unit is bad. I have to buy a pre-owned lower unit to mount it. I have a question for the Johnson outboard. Is the brand outboard still produced and a lot of part can be found? Before I have chrysler outborad and it was very difficult to find the part and no any body is willing to service this motor?

OMC the company that made that motor does not exist anymore. BRP bought them out and only the Evinrude name is left. But that motor is very plentiful and aftermarket and factory parts are still available for it. Any lower unit from a 3 cylinder OMC from 1978-1988 will fit.
