Johnson Model Number on Evinrude Motor?

I am sure there is a good explanation for this, but I found J90TLCUR model number (Ser.# 7568470) on Evinrude (both trim and powerhead). Are these two motors interchangeable that year? By the way, motor runs great. Thanks, Tom C. Bear

Yup. A parts swap going on there. Happens all the time.

Yes, it appears that the motor engine cover was replaced with an Evinrude cover from the same year. Block and trim assembly serial numbers (same) show it to have been an original Johnson. Evinrude/Johnson same/same. Bear

OMC is to Evinrude and Johnson, what GM is to Chevy, Buick, Pontiac and Oldsmobile. You have what is commonly referred to as a "JonnyRude."
