johnson lower gearcase

i have a lower gearcase (uint) that is complete. it was in a box beside a 1976 johnson 25 hp outboard i bought. the owner could not remeber what he bought it for. i have looked on several sites trying to match the casting numbers with no luck. if anybody out there is parts guru i could sure use your help. upper housing stamped D1 0383850 ,lower skeg housing D2 0302500. thanks

What are you trying to find out? If the unit will fit? Slide it on and see if they line up and have the same spline at the power head.

Those numbers are of little help. They are casting numbers of the die that the part was cast in. Once the raw part is cast, it may be finished to become one of several final part numbers.

A few clear pictures may give us a clue to aid in inentifying it.

thanks ,i already sold the motor. i was trying to find out the part numbers so i could sell these left over parts. thanks for your help. i'll just hang on to them.
