Hello to All. I have recently purchased a 24 Grady White with a 1992 225 Johnson V6 outboard.
The compression is balanced within aprox 10 psi across all 6 cylinders. The engine seems to run fine and has enough power to push the 24 footer to 30 mph. I am not familiar with the history of this model engine. Is this model notorius for anything ugly ? Is this engine something to invest a few bucks in for a ring job should the compression go bad or unbalanced? Any comments are appreciated.

I agree with JB. A great motor. Fresh 87 octane, good oil, Champion plugs and minimum 5800 RPM with an average load and it will live forever.

Good Luck!
