I am in possession of a n HD 2 5, serial 724481.
I would like to get it running again and am very close. It needs a carb rebuild.
Where can I find a parts list and replacement parts for something this old?
Also, can someone identify in which yer this engine was made?
Thanks,
J

Re: Johnson HD 2 5

looks like a 1950, according to the Old Outboard book.

(actually, '46 - '50) a.t. Hunn's listings (checking serial numbers....).

Mid 1949.

I have an HD26 parts manual, let me look for a HD 25 manual for you.

The following should help for now.

yup. '49. s.n. 698,875-787,023 -- so probably fair to say a mid-'49 if that comes up in parts searches. Recently learned the modern coils (i.e., '50s through '60s or '70s) won't work as direct replacements. Think you have to see what works, and then decide what's needed

(High Trim's too fast.....geez.)

Any ideas on where I can get replacement parts, carburetor rebuild kit, water pump impeller, etc...?

A little old for iboats.

Actually, Im not aware of anywhere that sells HD carb kits. Mostly make your own. This will help with the servicing.

Basic Carburetor Servicing Johnson H and T Series

The water pumps can still be bought. Post a wanted ad at aomci.org in the webvertize, there are a few members that sell them. Let me know if you need any help with locating parts. I would sell you one myself, but don't think I have any left.

Thanks, Chris. I blew some premix into the cylinders today and she ran for split-seconds. Amazing how quiet. Purrrrr. Can't wait to get her out for real.
Cheers!

Bad news. Low speed check valve shot, wide open. No checking going on. Sources, anyone?
Cheers!
