Greetings all,<br />I would like to know if someone could count the teeth on thier generator belt, and measure the outside circufirance of the belt. This way maybe I could find something to fit.<br /><br />Unless some one has one to sell, or knows where I can obtain one. <br />None available on Ebay. <br />Although there is one for sale a 35 Horse, seller doesnt know if it fits 40 horse.<br />Thanks Mitchell <br />email: Mihali@cox.net

Not much help, but I belive it's still available from the dealer. P/N 307577. Sells for about $50 though. <br />I'm pretty sure the 35hp one is a direct fit. But best to make sure.

It'll fit. <br /><br />As far as I know there were only two used, one for the twins and one for the V-4s.<br /><br />Addendum: There would also be one for the V-4 Distributor, so make that three.

Try a ball park figure and go to Autozone and get one in that size, up one and down. Cheap, and just tell them you will be returning the ones that don't fit. They have the best prices on belts, and I had no problem with telling them what I was doing (new raw water pump pulley), and just did not know the size. Maybe someone here can measure a belt O.D. and give you that info.

There is some good news on that front.Bill Mayer ,the owner of Mayers marina in rochester,NY did some home work and found a supplier for this belt.I bought one at the marina.A brand spanking new one,mind you,for $17 which is better by far compared to 40 year old ones for 50 bucks<br />Contact Bill at 585-323-1010 and see if this old timer is willing to do business by mail..he also happens to be a walking encyclopedia where 1920 to 1970 outboards are concerned.

We bought an industrail belt that was to wide and just cut it down with a razor knife worked great. We just measured the distance around the pullies and bought that length.

Yes, where did you get the belt?, Number, or manufacturer, would help. Need more clues.<br />Thanks<br />Mitchell<br />Would be good four future reference. I did look for a long time for indudtrial and drive belts on internet, but was to difficult. Most site where entirely commercial, larg lots and didnt list tooth size, diameter.

I'm not in America, so rule out twin city etc....<br />My best bet is to get the wider industrial belt and to cut it down.

Looking for this belt as well...

So far I know that:

It is:

68 teeth
.375 (3/8") Pitch
25.5" Long
1/4"-5/16" Width

I can find industrial drive belts at 1/2" widths.. which could be cut down. But, it would be better to find a company that supplies the right belt.

Seaway is robbing people at 55$ a pop.
