I ADDED SOME DRY-FUEL TO REMOVE WATER FROM THE TANK AND THE DISCHARGE FROM THE HOLE IN THE LOWER UNIT ON THE BACK WHERE THE WATER COMES OUT OF THE HOLE IS BLACK AND FOAMY LIKE. NOT WHITE BUT SOLID BLACK AND OILY. IS THIS A RESULT OF THE DRY FUEL OR WHAT? THANKS, MICHAEL

Re: JOHNSON EXHAUST LOWER UNIT / WATER ISSUES

The water is making it foamy. It sounds like the dry-fuel is working, though, because it has allowed the water to mix with the gasoline instead of staying at the bottom of the tank.

The black oily residue would be normal except for the water making it foamy. I would want to get rid of that fuel as soon as possible. If that water hits the motor in volume while the motor is hot, it can make a mess.
