I have a 2001 150hp Johnson (carburator)outboard.<br />When trying to pull a skiier or take off and you drop the control it falls on its face...Dead. It re-starts just fine hit it again..Dies. You have to feather the trottle till you get around 1000rmps then it will take off.It also does it when trolling (pulling crank baits) 1.8mph it will just die, almost like it loads up,<br />yet if you push the key in to choke it, it seems to stay running for a bit then dies when it idles. It will stay idling if at or above the 1000rmp mark.
