Johnson dies in gear!!

I've nursed my '88 Johnson 15hp along quite well by searching this site for knowledge. I haven't found a thread on this yet so I'm here for help!! My 15hp starts O.K. (a full primes & pulls)and runs fine in neutral, choke adjustments during warm up, but seems to just lose life when I shift it into gear. There's not sputter, pops, etc, just a easy die.....<br />Thanks in advance for helping me out.<br />Kelli

Welcome Kelli! Your condition is usually caused by crud in the carb & is time for a rebuild. Get a shop manual & have fun. It is a relatively easy job.
