Johnson Control 3 Prong Plug

Hi All, Almost done installing my 1993 Johnson 90 hp V4. It is a Center Console with a Binnacle Control. Just below the control coming out of the wire harness is another short harness with a 3 prong plug. Can anyone tell me what this plug is for? Thanks, O.T.
